The Alphabetak Series

What do you get when an alphabet and a backward Kate collide? Alphabetak. This series uses the four-frame format of a photobooth strip to build a standard 4 x 7 grid of images, creating a different alphabet each time; experimenting with font, format, language and shape.

The restrictions of analogue booths in terms of space, timing and positioning mean these alphabet samplers are technically often difficult to create. This series celebrates that challenge and the joy of all things alphabetical.

These pieces were created between 2009 and 2014 in booths in Riga, Manchester and London.
