Only in New Zealand would someone have a microwave for a mailbox and it be considered normal! Yet it is exactly these crazy, colourful and creative letterboxes that make New Zealand such a delight to tour around. I photographed hundreds of them throughout both islands and wrote to them all in an attempt to find out the stories behind them. Before long my own letterbox was full of amazing tales: feuding neighbours, elephants, six fingered men, carpenters, fridge freezers and visiting Prime Ministers. The accompanying stories are not included here but have been exhibited with the photographs in Nottingham. I am currently investigating publishing options.
